Knowledge Systems Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a Knowledge Systems Engineer to build the semantic infrastructure that powers intelligent retrieval, reasoning, and knowledge discovery. You will design knowledge graphs, ontology systems, and hybrid search architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and build knowledge graphs that represent complex domain relationships
• Implement hybrid search systems combining vector, keyword, and graph-based retrieval
• Develop ontology and taxonomy frameworks for enterprise knowledge organisation
• Build pipelines for entity extraction, relationship detection, and knowledge fusion
• Create evaluation frameworks for retrieval quality and knowledge coverage

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years building knowledge representation or information retrieval systems
• Strong understanding of graph databases and query languages (Neo4j, Cypher, SPARQL)
• Experience with vector databases and embedding-based retrieval
• Proficiency in Python and data pipeline tooling
• Understanding of ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic web standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in computational linguistics or natural language processing
• Experience with RDF, OWL, or linked data publishing
• Contributions to knowledge graph or semantic search projects
• Experience building enterprise-scale document understanding systems
