Prompt Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a Prompt Engineer who treats language as a programming paradigm. You will design, test, and optimise prompt chains that extract reliable, structured outputs from large language models.

Responsibilities

• Design and iterate on prompt strategies for classification, extraction, summarisation, and generation tasks
• Build evaluation frameworks that measure prompt reliability across diverse inputs
• Develop prompt versioning and experimentation pipelines
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate prompt chains into backend services
• Document prompt patterns and best practices for the broader team

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years working with large language models in production contexts
• Deep understanding of tokenisation, context windows, and model behaviour
• Proficiency with Python and experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex)
• Strong analytical approach to evaluating model outputs
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fine-tuning and RAG architectures
• Background in linguistics, cognitive science, or computational semantics
• Published evaluations or benchmarks of LLM performance
• Experience with multimodal prompts (vision + language)
